Think Before You Vote for Change for Change Sake

On the news the other night I saw one young lady was interviewed on who she was going to vote for in the upcoming Presidential election.  As many of the young seem to be responding, she said “Obama.”  When asked why, she replied, “Because he wants to change things.”  When asked what it is he plans on changing she responded something like, “Well, he wants to change things so they are better.”  Finally the interviewer asked. “Just tell me one thing that Obama wants to change and how he will do it.”  The young lady responded, “Well I don’t really know, I’m not really into politics that much.”

This is the current mentality of the people voting now.  Not all of them, but a good many of them, especially the young.  At some point parents have apparently convinced children that the best way to conduct life is to constantly look for change.  When, how and why did this happen?  I could say, when did Read more »

Presidential Candidates Overseas - Why?

I am confused as to the purpose of the two presidential candidates, Obama and McCain wasting money, time, and probably many other things, in visiting foreign dignitaries in their home countries.  Obama especially seems to be the culprit, or it could be that the media is covering him more.  I literally quit watching political news because it has gone on so long that I’ve lost interest in anyone winning the presidential election.  But on occasion I still catch some news that Obama is in yet another country talking to yet another leader.
