Muslim Troubles

I recently heard on the news several stories of the changing atmosphere and attitudes of Muslim women in Europe. The main point of the story was the growing movement to shift Islamic practice, in England, back to its old fashioned roots with all of the old laws and ways. The movement is mostly being led by young women. For example, they want such things as the full covering type dress that is worn by conservative Muslim women, where you can only see the eyes. As well they want to bring back stoning for certain crimes. There are many other old laws and philosophies including the belief in destroying Israel. Their demands are that the English government begin to more fully recognize very traditional Islam and make allowances for it in public and beyond.
One of their main goals is to set up separate Islamic areas in England where they can practice the old fashioned ways more easily, yet still be part of English society. It was compared to the Jews in the beginning stages of creating Israel or when Jewish people had separate “ghetto” areas in which they lived apart from the mainstream. These Muslim areas would then have representatives and such who would be part of making legislation for the government or at least be recognized legally as a separate entity.
My question is….don’t Muslims already have several countries that carry on the traditional ways?! Why is it that groups of people are continuously leaving their native areas and bombarding democratic societies with political agendas…as if they suddenly deserve to be part of the democratic society, yet separate from it! I just don’t get it! What they appear to be doing is saying they don’t really like their native countries that well and prefer the European political systems, but they don’t want to change to fit in, but want everyone else to change to accept them. I think groups like this need to remain in their own areas which already exist, or move back, if they don’t want to change. As well, if they are unhappy with their own countries, then they need to fight for their country to change, NOT migrate to other political areas and then attempt to be recognized as a legitimate group with possibly more privileges than the people already there.
This large traditional Islam movement that I mention actually is being led by people who were born in England, but have suddenly realized they prefer more traditional Islamic ways, and are now complaining that the government isn’t set up to allow them to practice the traditional ways! Ridiculous!
I am completely FOR people keeping ethnic traditions alive, and think all ethnic minded people should. But why attempt to involve the government? I am confused as to why groups of ethnic people continue to think that immediately upon entering a country, or on a whim (as this seems to be), they deserve “mental” separation from the mainstream and extra-ordinary privileges? This attitude is becoming far too rampant across the globe.
