It’s a MAD, MAD World!

The world as we know it seems to be going mad… it’s sad… it’s frightening… it’s frustrating… it’s confusing… and it’s VERY stressful… I have so many frustrations in life that I don’t know where to begin!
I’ll start with one of the most aggravating things to me currently. It is trying to deal with any kind of business transaction. I say “trying to deal with” because so many times nothing is resolved!
Just one example of this would be trying to deal with insurance companies… whether it be medical insurance, car insurance, home insurance, life insurance… or whatever. You make a phone call (God forbid), go through at LEAST three, and sometimes up to eight or nine automated menus before it’s even possible to get a person, and in some instances it’s not possible, after all that, to even talk to a person anyway! By then you are in the beginning stages of frustration! Then, after finally struggling through the hassles of actually getting to speak to a real person, and all the time wasted going through the automated menus, it gets more frustrating because the person you get to speak to either doesn’t speak good English, or they don’t know how to answer your question because “they aren’t the person who handles that kind of inquiry” (if they can even find your records in their database in the first place). So they put you on the dreaded “hold”. If you’re lucky you will only have to wait 15 to 30 minutes on hold (unless you get cut off in the process and you have to start all over again). Finally you get another person from another “so-called” department, who most likely cannot answer your question(s) either! You are put on hold again and after what seems like forever on the phone, you finally hang up, more confused than you were when you called in the first place! Which tells me that the people you were talking to didn’t know much about what you called for either!
I can’t figure out why it is so difficult to get any kind of information and/or answers, and why everything and everyone seems so confused, and no one seems to know what is going on anywhere, yet the premiums paid for insurance “type” products is devastating to some people or families. The cost of the products continuously go higher and higher and the quality and quantity of the service continuously declines.
So… you tell me, why do people seem so stressed these days???
