2009 Store Closings

My sources tell me that the following stores have filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission to close some or all stores this year and in 2009. It is true that we have too many stores as it is but it is a little scary at the same time.

• Many Circuit City stores
• Ann Taylor- 117 stores nationwide
• Lane Bryant, Fashion Bug and Catherine’s to close 150 store nationwide

Rite Aid Wrong

I’m confused at why anyone would get their prescriptions from the pharmacy Rite Aid?  Or why they would even get anything in Rite Aid, unless they absolutely had no other choice.  The prices in Rite Aid are rarely ever competitive with other places like Target, Wal-Mart or grocery store pharmacies.  I think they are still trying to recover from the huge financial scandal they were guilty of in 1999 where they were convicted of unfriendly consumer practices and submitting false prescription claims to the government.  Their stock price never did recover.  This does not seem to be a well run company. Club Cards

The other day I got to the register at a self-checkout and suddenly completely forgot what store I was in and which key ring club card I was suppose to use.  It was the club cards that got me confused in the first place!  Several of them looked alike and most were the same shape.  When I got up to the checkout to pay I started flipping through them, after an extraordinary battle to even get them out of my pant’s pocket, and suddenly forgot which store I was in and what club card was to be used!  This is getting ridiculous!
