Muslim Troubles

Written by Confusion support on January 24, 2008 – 5:30 pm -

I recently heard on the news several stories of the changing atmosphere and attitudes of Muslim women in Europe.  The main point of the story was the growing movement to shift Islamic practice, in England, back to its old fashioned roots with all of the old laws and ways.  The movement is mostly being led by young women.  For example, they want such things as the full covering type dress that is worn by conservative Muslim women, where you can only see the eyes.  As well they want to bring back stoning for certain crimes.  There are many other old laws and philosophies including the belief in destroying Israel.   Their demands are that the English government begin to more fully recognize very traditional Islam and make allowances for it in public and beyond. Red Light Ignoring

Written by Confusion support on January 22, 2008 – 5:21 pm -

I’m confused as to whether or not cars now have to actually stop at red lights!  Let me count the many times I’ve nearly broadsided a car turning in front of me, as they went through a red light.  Let me tally the number of times I could not proceed forward through my green light, because cars were still making left hand turns in front of me going through their red light.  Let me ADD the number times I watched cars in front of me proceed through a solid red light when they could have easily stopped! Idiot Sightings

Written by Confusion support on January 16, 2008 – 5:43 pm -

On occasion we may bring you actual eyewitness accounts of idiotic behavior.  Here are some below.

IDIOT SIGHTING 1:

We had to have the garage door repaired. The Sears repairman told us that one of our problems was that we did not have a “large” enough motor on the opener.

He said, “NO, it’s not.” Four is larger than two..”

We haven’t used Sears repair since. Read more »

Gay Confusion

One of our readers writes:

I’m confused about gay attraction. Perhaps I’m not familiar enough with the culture to have an accurate perception, but in many of the gay couples I’ve seen represented on television shows, including reality type shows, and with some I’ve known personally, it seems that at least one of the involved individuals exhibits many characteristics of the opposite sex. So, I’m left to wonder why the other individual isn’t attracted to the opposite sex instead. Read more »

Toothpaste Madness

Written by Confusion support on January 9, 2008 – 9:06 pm -

I can barely stand buying a tube of toothpaste. I don’t understand what I am supposed to buy. When I was little there were only three choices: Regular Colgate, Regular Crest and Regular Auqafresh! I distinctly remember the arguments in elementary school about which was better, my Colgate, or their Crest, or this one girl’s Auqafresh! Now there are so many different varieties of each that any kind of argument would be nearly pointless and confusing as hell. Read more »

Catholics and Movies

Written by Confusion support on January 3, 2008 – 4:56 pm -

Recently I read this in an editorial appearing in the Patriot News in Harrisburg, Pa.

I’m Roman Catholic. Whenever a Catholic group or the church itself calls for the boycott of a film, I immediately become interested in the film, even when no previous interest existed. There is great truth in the adage “any publicity is good publicity.” Read more »
